Muriel V. Sexton Simpson, 88, of Long Branch, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Monmouth Care Center, Long Branch.















She was born in Bridgeton and lived in Long Branch most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch and served in the US Navy during WW II. She was a member of the Retired WAVES Association.















After her service in the Navy she entered an embalming school and was a funeral director in California.















Predeceased by her parents, William and Alice Sexton and 8 brothers and sisters.















Surviving are her son, Michael and his wife Juliene Simpson of Stroudsburg, PA, her daughter, Michelle Sterling of Long Branch; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer and Shannon Simpson and William Sterling, Jr. and Ashley Sterling Deasey and 1 great grandson, William Anthony Deasey and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 3-5 & 7-9 pm Saturday and attend her funeral service at 8:30 pm followed by Military Honors on Saturday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
