Michael J. Vamvas, 80 of Long Branch, NJ entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He was born in the Bronx, NY and resided in Brooklyn before moving to Long Branch in 1981.
Mr. Vamvas was the proprietor of the Quick-Stop Grocery Store in Long Branch for over 16 years and retired in 1996. He was a congregant of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Twp. NJ and served in the US Army from 1958 to 1962
Mr. Vamvas was pre-deceased by his parents; William and Mercina Vamvas and his son Michael in 2014. He is survived by his wife Zoraida Bauza Vamvas, two sons; John Vamvas of Eatontown, NJ and William Vamvas of Long Branch, NJ.
Relatives & friends are invited to call at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch, NJ on Tuesday, from 4 – 6 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Wednesday at 11 AM from St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Ocean Twp., NJ. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park Mausoleum Toms River, NJ.
