Michael Sariotis, Sr., 78, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, died Friday, May 25, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at Barnabas Health Hospice Center, Long Branch.
He was born in Neptune and lived in Asbury Park before moving to Oakhurst in 1968.
He was a firefighter for the City of Asbury Park during the 1960's. For 40 years, he was co-owner and operator of the Oakhurst Country Day School and Camp where he was known as Mr. Mike. He retired in 2004.
He was a graduate of Asbury Park High School and attended the University of Miami. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was avid reader and he enjoyed watching his granddaughters playing sports. Mike also enjoyed spending time at his Fort Lauderdale, Florida residence.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Katherine Sariotis and his sister, Anastasia.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Patty; 2 sons, Michael Sariotis, Jr. and his wife Kristin of Ocean and Jim Sariotis of Oakhurst; brother, Gregory Sariotis of Ocean and 2 granddaughters, Nicolette and Paige.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Funeral service will be private.
