Obituary for Mary Ellen Branigan

Mary Ellen Branigan, 83, of Asbury Park, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020.
She was born in New York and lived most of her life in Jersey City before moving to Asbury Park over 20 years ago.
She was a manager at Verizon in South Plainfield before retiring.
Mary Ellen was a communicant of St. Anselm’s Roman Catholic Church in Wayside, Ocean Township and was a past president of Hudson County Chapter of the National Organization for Women and volunteered at a local domestic violence shelter and also at The Center in Asbury Park. She was a diehard NY Giants fan.
She was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Mary Ellen Holland and her brother, John Holland.
Surviving are her partner of 36 years, Dorothy Wysmierski; son, Michael and his wife Linda Branigan; daughter, Noreen and her husband Joseph Rizzolo, Sr.; sister-in-law, Naz Holland; 3 grandchildren, Christine Marie and Michael Branigan and Joseph Rizzolo, Jr., a niece, Kathleen Holland and a nephew, Niel Pirthipal and many other nieces and nephews who loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 10 am until her Memorial Mass at 11 am on Saturday at St. Anselm’s Church, 1028 Wayside Road, Wayside.
