Mary Ellen Anfuso, 67, of Long Branch, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Riverview Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born in New York City and lived in Sea Bright and Rumson before moving to Long Branch 41 years ago.

She was a member and former president of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She worked in customer service for Verizon for 32 years before retiring in 2000.

Mary Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Mary O’Brien; brother, Dennis O’Brien and sister, Virginia Bouton.

Surviving are her husband, Augustus; son, Angelo; brother, Thomas and his wife Patty O’Brien and several nieces and nephews.
