Obituary for Malcolm F. Brophy

Malcolm Brophy, age 72, passed away peacefully at home with his family in Tinton Falls Wednesday October 6th, 2021. He was born in Jersey City but resided in Ocean Township for most of his life. He worked as a policeman in Ocean Township for over 25 years and retired as a Lieutenant. In 2000, he went on to work for the NATO led peacekeeping force in Kosovo and lived overseas for 18 months. He worked various occupations until his complete retirement in 2017 when he spent his days relaxing. Malcolm had love for history and would share his knowledge with many. Malcolm was a loving father to his children. In his final years he took on the role as “Pop Pop” and adored his two granddaughters. He frequented performances and games and loved watching them grow. He is predeceased by his parents Malcolm and Margaret Brophy. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Brophy of Tinton Falls; daughter Kristen Brophy-McCauley and son-in-law Chris McCauley of Oakhurst; son, Kevin Brophy of Jackson; granddaughters Cecilia and Margo McCauley of Oakhurst; brother Douglas Brophy and his wife Diane of Neptune; brother Robert Brophy of Brick; and sister Carolyn Brophy of Belmar. He will be forever remembered as a loving provider and will be missed by many. Viewing will be held on Monday October 11th, 2021 3:00-6:00Pm at Buckley Funeral Home 509 Second Avenue, Asbury Park.
