Lucy Soriano, 95, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014.

She was born and raised in Newark before moving to Oakhurst in 1963.

She was a baker and a cook for the Ocean Township Board of Education for 12 years before retiring in 1984. Lucy was a member of the Italian American Club, the Ocean Township Seniors and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Asbury Park. She was a great baker and a cook and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Joseph on August 18, 1979; her parents, Frank and Rose Cicalese and 2 sisters, Rafaelle and Celia.

Surviving are her children, Roseanne Libonate of Wall, Victor and his wife Dorothy Soriano of Howell and Judy and her husband Bill MacDonald of Toms River; 2 sisters, Josephine Magda and Mary Capra; brother, Jerry Cicalese; 8 grandchildren, Anthony Libonate, Marybeth Richards, Joseph Libonate, Victor John Soriano, Michael Soriano, Deanna Soriano, Christopher MacDonald and Katelyn MacDonald and 10 great grandchildren, John, Katherine, Emily, Brady, Sophia, Salvatore, Brian, Sarah, Emma and Michael.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 3 to 7 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 am Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Asbury Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
