Kevin M. O'Grady, Sr., 66, of Elberon, Long Branch, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the NJ Firemens Home of complications from Picks disease. He was born in Newark and lived there and in Irvington and Sea Bright before moving to Elberon 38 years ago.
He was a fireman for the City of Newark for 25 years before retiring in 1994. Mr. O'Grady was the former owner of the Sea Bright Pub. He was a 1964 graduate of Irvington High School. He was a US Navy veteran during the VietNam War and was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 335, Long Branch, 4th degree member of the Bishop McFaul Assembly, past president of St. Jerome's School PTA, West Long Branch, past president of the Red Bank Catholic High School PTA, member of the Father's Club at Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, the Long Branch Elks #742, the American Legion, Neptune and the Notre Dame Club of the Jersey Shore. He was a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jeremiah and Rose Smith O'Grady and a sister, Anna Mae O'Grady.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Debra Blakeley O'Grady, children, Kevin and his wife Paula O'Grady of Ardmore, PA, Jeremiah and his wife Maria O'Grady of South River and Julia Ann O'Grady of New Rochelle, NY; 2 grandchildren, Joseph Michael and Anya Rose O'Grady; 2 brothers, James O'Grady of Sussex and Gerald O'Grady of Nazareth, PA and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Wednesday at St. Jerome's Church, West Long Branch. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the NJ Firemens Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 or St. Jerome School Tuition Assistance, 250 Wall Street, West Long Branch, NJ 07764
