Obituary for Joseph N Long

Eatontown, NJ- Joseph N. Long 85, passed away on December 29, 2020 after a brief illness. Joe was
born and raised in Neptune City, and had resided in Eatontown for the past 48 years. Joe was
employed as a Civilian at Fort Monmouth for many years, holding various job titles, retiring in 1992.
Joe was an antique car enthusiast, avid NY Yankee fan and was most happy while vacationing with his
family, whether it be cruising or on the coast of Maine. Joe will be missed at family gatherings and
dinners as he was always full of stories and anecdotes.
He was predeceased by his siblings, William Howard Long and Shirley Schultz. Joe is survived by his
loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Christine of Eatontown: two daughters, Michele Haynes and her
husband Paul of Tinton Falls; Kimberly Wolf and her husband Robert of Eatontown; brother-in-law
Richard Silvey and his wife Ginger of Parlin; sister-in-law Marjorie Long of Neptune City; and
grandchildren Riley Haynes, Silver, Ethan and Sophia Wolf, along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and held at a later date. Memorial donations in Joe’s memory can be made to
the ASPCA of Eatontown.
