Obituary for James L Jones
James L. Jones, 91 of Oakhurst passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 He was born in Lyndhurst, NJ and resided there until moving to Oakhurst in 1952.
Mr. Jones was a retired Detective Lieutenant with the Ocean Twp. Police Dept. for 30 years retiring in 1985. He was also a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army, a member of the Ocean Twp. PBA #57, American Legion, VFW Post #2226 of Oakhurst and a member of the BPO Elks Lodge in Asbury Park.
Mr. Jones was pre-deceased by his parents, James & Elsie Jones, a son, James L. Jones Jr., a daughter, Laureen Campbell, a grandson, Kevin Hoey and brother, Theodore Jones. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Hoey and Barbara Kebless, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, Sept 8, 2020 at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Provinceline Rd. Wrightstown, NJ. At the request of the family, kindly omit flowers.
