James H. Farrell, 87, of Eatontown, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Chapin Hill at Red Bank.



He was born in Newark and lived in East Hanover before moving to Monmouth and Ocean counties 42 years ago.



He was a communicant of St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. He owned a gas station/car wash in Newark and a convenience store in Belford and was also employed by Murphy Transportation in Middletown before retiring.



He served in the US Navy during WW II from 1943 to 1945.



He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Reilly Farrell and his 3 brothers, Charles, Joseph, and John and 3 sisters, Lucille, Katherine, and Florence.



Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Anna O'Keefe Farrell; 3 daughters, Diane and Robert Huettl of Eatontown, Janie and Richard Pinter of Middletown and Linda and Jeffrey Ward of Eatontown; 4 grandchildren, Brittany and Ashton Pinter and Evan and Kendall Ward; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Adele and Raymond Maday of Saugerties, NY, and Ellen and John O'Keefe of Sarasota, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 10:30 am Thursday from the funeral home followed by an 11:30 am Funeral Mass at St. Dorothea's Church, Eatontown. Burial will be at BGWC Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
