Obituary for Howard R. Walzer
Howard R. Walzer, 89, of Oceanport, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
He was born and raised in Red Bank and lived in Little Silver before moving to Oceanport in 1955.
He worked for Jersey Central Power and Light before retiring in 1991.
He was a US Navy veteran during the Korean War, member of Oceanport Fire Department Port-au-Peck Hose Company, the Unami Archery and the Year Round Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Elsie Walzer.
Surviving are his brother, John (Jack) Walzer, Jr. and his wife Marge Collins; niece, Diane Benner and her husband Frank; nephews, John David Walzer and his wife Karen, Paul Walzer and his wife Lynn, Tom Walzer and his wife Kathryn and Peter Walzer and his wife Jean.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 10 am until the funeral service at noon on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to either Port-au-Peck Fire Company or to Monmouth Medical Center. Burial will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls.
