Obituary for George J. Hiotis

George Hiotis passed away at his home in Eatontown, NJ, one day shy of his 39th birthday on December 11th, 2022. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend.
In his early years he was a joyous child who loved his family and friends very much. He loved his 80’s and 90’s cartoons which he continued to love into his adulthood. He was a big fan of sports. A huge fan of the NJ Devils, The Jets, and The Yankees as well as WWE and Golf. He was Bruce Springsteens number one fan. He found his music relatable. He loved toys and anyone that knew him knows he was a big kid at heart. He was a great person to talk to, and a great listener and friend to many people. He was someone you could be yourself around. If you needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to just hear your worries, he was the one to go to whether you just needed to be heard or hugged. He loved laughing and telling stories. His biggest flaw was that felt too much. He loved too much. He felt that no one knew what he felt. Nostalgia was always a big part of everything in his life. People around him found moving on so easy and that was something he had a hard time doing. Because of these things he held onto so deeply, he struggled with lots of pain which sadly diminished the sense of his true self that we all knew and loved so much.
Luckily the things that he thought mattered on this earth, don’t matter where he is now. He was OURS, he was loved and he will never be forgotten. He is predeceased by his father, Michael Poniros. He is survived my his Mother Hrissouola Hiotis, and his brother Theodore Hiotis.
