Obituary for Frank Conte Sr.

Frank Conte, Sr., 95, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at home.
Born in Vallefiorita, Catanzaro, Italy he came to Long Branch in 1935.
After coming here, he worked as a tailor at Sigmund Eisner Factory in Red Bank. He then became a foreman for S. P. Harris & Sons Sheet Metal in Long Branch for 22 years. After which he founded his own company Franklen Sheet Metal in Neptune with his partner, Leonard Riley and retired in 1983.
He was a very proud Army veteran of WW II serving in the South Pacific with the Transportation Corps attached to the 1st Marine Division. He was a communicant of Christ the King Parish at Holy Trinity Church, a member for 45 years of the Long Branch Elks #742 and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #27 in Farmingdale. Frank was a humanitarian and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Frank was always willing to lend a helping hand, give advice and help people find employment. He was generous with his time and talents.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Antonia Conte; brother, Louis Conte and sister, Rose Camastra.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Rita DeVitis Conte; sons, Frank Conte, Jr. and his wife Diane and Lorenzo Conte; daughter, Linda Kornett; 4 grandchildren, Gabrielle and her husband Shane Kriegstein, Frank Conte III and Lisa and Jennifer Reeves and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-6 pm Sunday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Monday at Holy Trinity Church in Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport.
