Obituary for Dr. Richard A Daniels

We are saddened to announce the death of our father, Dr. Richard Daniels, 93, of Long Branch, NJ. Richard was born in Newark, NJ to Helen and Morris Daniels. Dad graduated Syracuse University Phi Beta Kappa and was Valedictorian of his Downstate Medical School class, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He trained at Mt. Immediately following his training, Dad enlisted in the Air Force, serving as a Chief of Medicine at the 32nd USAF hospital in Minot, North Dakota with the rank of Captain. In 1961, Dad returned to the East Coast, moving our family to the Jersey Shore, and opening his practice in internal medicine. For over 35 years, he cared for much of the local community, and continued to practice and teach at Monmouth Medical Center into his late 80s.

Dad married his childhood sweetheart, Norma Kasoff and together they spent many happy years traveling, playing golf and tennis, skiing, cooking and eating with friends and family.

Richard is survived by his wife Norma, children Steven (Dale) Daniels, Jeffery (Ann) Daniels, Barrie (David) Markowitz, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Richard is predeceased by his daughter, Cathy Daniels Zukerman and granddaughter, Kelly Daniels.
