Douglas X. Wood, 71, of Oakhurst passed away Saturday, October 7th after a 25 month battle with cancer. Doug was a 47 year member of the Oakhurst Fire Co., a first aid captain, past president of the first aid, fire police member, and employed by the Dept. Of Human Services in Ocean Twp. He was an avid Pink Floyd fan, concert goer, beach lover, and enjoyed attending horse races. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth (Beth), son Keith & daughter-in-law Kathleen of Bear, DE, and daughter Amanda of Somers Point, NJ. Funeral arrangements will be through Buckley Funeral Home with a viewing on Thursday, October 12th, from 4-7 PM with a service at 6:30.
