Obituary for Douglas Henry Kitchell
Douglas Henry Kitchell, 56 of Oceanport, NJ passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. He was born in Summit, NJ and resided in Pt. Pleasant Beach before moving to Oceanport in 2004.
Mr. Kitchell was the proprietor of Kitchell and Associates LLC Construction Co. in Long Branch, NJ. He was active in the community and built and donated Kitchell baseball field at Camp Oakhurst. He was also a member of the NY Association for the Handicap, an avid donor to the ASPCA and an active blood donor for the American Red Cross.
Doug was also an avid motor cross racer and started his first race in 1976 at Raceway Park where he was well known.
Doug was pre-deceased by his father, Hari Kitchell and mother, Patricia Ann Lucas-Gilmore and a sister Laura Susan Elliot Kitchell.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Patricia Kitchell; his sisters, Kristen Lee Kitchell, Nell Marie Swanson and Kristie Tutela; his brothers Glen Martin Pearce and Kristopher W. Perryman; a niece, Emily Danielle Kitchell; a nephew Ari Swanson; his former partner, Lori E. Rossi; and his current partner Kathy Daniels Zukerman. Doug was a man who was loved by everyone.,Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering on Sunday from 10 am – 12 noon at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Rd. Oakhurst, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for his daughters education c/o Jacqueline Kitchell, 23 Iroquois Ave. Oceanport, NJ 07757 All further services are private and at the convenience of the family.
