Obituary for Claire Ann Jerram
Claire Ann Hutchison Jerram, 75, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
Claire was born on April 30, 1946 to Thomas and Kathryn Hutchison in Hillside. She graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1964. After graduation, she married young, travelled a bit and had her 2 beloved children, David J. Vitola and Amie L. Vitola Green. Years later she then studied shorthand at the Stewart School of Business. Over the years she had many jobs as a secretary/administrator but her longest running job was for United Teletech Electronics, where she her current husband, George K. Jerram.
After retiring in 2001 and closing up her Teddy Bears To-Go business, Claire spent her time being the best wife, mother and grandmother she could be, always helping out when she could. During her retired years she loved being a companion to a couple of her elderly friends. She loved butterflies and birds and enjoyed watching them from her front window/porch flying to the butterfly bush and bird feeders. She also spent a lot of time caring for and cuddling with her cat Toby.
Claire was predeceased by her mother and father, Kathryn Hutchison and Thomas Hutchison, Sr., brother, Thomas Hutchison, Jr. and nephew, Thomas Hutchison III.
She is survived by her husband, George K. Jerram; brother, Richard Hutchison; son, David Vitola, Sr.; daughter, Amie Green; nephews, Kevin, Matthew and Jeffrey Hutchison; niece, Jessica Hutchison and last but not least her 6 beloved grandchildren, David Vitola, Jr., Ariana MacMillan, Jenna MacMillan, Matthew Vitola, Kayla Vitola and Michael Vitola.
