Betty "Boop" Bossone, 92, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 12, 2013, surrounded by the family she adored. Born in Lansdale PA, she was raised and schooled in Fair Haven before moving to Long Branch in 1940, where she dutifully served at home as her husband served in World War II and eventually served much of Monmouth County in various restaurants across the two -rivers area. She was proud of her position as captain of the Channel Club in Monmouth Beach, where she "righted the ship" for more than 25 years, met some of her closest friends and developed the traits she was known best for –optimism, close friendships and an inspiring work ethic. Boop was a delighted mother, devoted grandmother and doting great-grandmother; a communicant of Christ the King Parish (Holy Trinity Church); a die-hard patriot; an inspiring survivor of so many adversities; and above all else, a real true friend to so many people.

Boop was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Rebecca Hunsicker, her husband Robert Bossone, and her siblings: Raymond and Richard Hunsicker; Audrey Litchfield; and Jean Rudman

She is survived by: a son, Robert J. Bossone, and his life partner Gail Crespy; a daughter Susan, and son in law Terence McNerney; three grandchildren: Elizabeth and her husband Peter Marrin; Erin McNerney and fiancee Louis Politan; and Andrew McNerney and fiancée Karen Mintz; four great grandchildren: Grace, Tompkins and Griffin Marrin and Isabella Politan and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am Thursday at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Religious Teachers Filippini, 455 Western Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960 or St. Jerome School, 250 Wall Street, West Long Branch, NJ 07764.
