Obituary for Beatrice Alvarez
Beatrice Irene Alvarez passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the age of 85 in Eatontown, NJ, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Beatrice was the daughter of the late John & Sara Brister of Long Branch, NJ. She is also predeceased by sisters Jackie Voorhees, and Frances Hurley.
Beatrice was a lifelong resident of Long Branch and loved living near the beach. In earlier years she worked at Monmouth Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and in area nursing homes. She was loved dearly by her patients and their families as she treated every patient with love and dignity. Before her illness, Beatrice loved writing poetry for which she received community awards and recognition. She also enjoyed painting and ceramics. Beatrice was proud of all her children and considered each one her "favorite." She loved to brag about her children and grandchildren.
Beatrice is survived by her loving and dedicated husband Macario Fidel Alvarez, daughters Donna Hunter (Michael) of AZ, and Teresa Ryan of NJ, sons Nicholas Spigelmyer (Lorraine) of CA, Stephen Ciaramella (Annamarie) of NJ, Michael Peluso (Lisa) of FL, and step-sons Omar Alvarez, Fidel Alvarez, and Pedro Alvarez of NJ. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren William, Tina, Marisa, Michelle, Julianne, Michael, Gregory, Hunter, Melissa and Kristin along with 6 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, her brother John Brister and dear sister Margaret Pierce. Fiore Funeral Home will handle arrangements for a private burial in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls NJ
