Devoted husband, father and grandfather, Anthony “Snooky” Christopher of West Long Branch, NJ passed away peaceful on January 23, 2022.
Born in Long Branch, Snooky was the son of the late Anthony “Tote” Christopher and Doris (Cook) Christopher. He was also predeceased by his brother Vincent Christopher. Snooky worked at R. Helfrich & Sons Inc. where he drove a charter bus. He drove this bus everywhere, across many states, shopping malls, sporting events and even high school baseball games. He gave a new meaning to the phrase “I’ve been everywhere man”.
Snooky was best known for his sense of humor and sarcasm. He enjoyed making those around him laugh. His jokes and stories are unforgettable and now have new ownership with others and will continue to be told for years to come. He enjoyed singing and dancing with his wife, he would sing the song “You’re my cup of tea” as often as she would listen.
He was an avid sports fan who was eager to share his views with anyone willing to listen. He had a love for horses and the racetrack. You would often hear him yelling “and down the stretch they come” while cheering for his favorite horse. His passion for horse racing was shared with everyone that visited the track. The impact he made on those around him will last forever. Snooky will be deeply missed.
Snooky is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Marie Christopher, brother Donald Christopher (Stephanie), sons Tony Christopher and Vinnie Christopher (Alicia) along with his grandson Jake Christopher.
