Obituary for Ana Hilda Collado Torres

We regretfully announce the passing of Ana Hilda Collado Torres of Long Branch, New Jersey on Sunday, June 13th, 2021. Our beloved Ana Hilda was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Our mother, Ana Hilda, was one of the strongest, most loving, courageous, kindest, selfless, intelligent, cultured and beautiful women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Ana Hilda studied Accounting at Columbia University in New York and enjoyed reading literature, the arts, sculpture, fashion, travels and stained glass. She served and worshipped faithfully our Lord at Iglesia Evangélica Luterana Sion of Bayamon, Puerto Rico since she was 10 years old and was a member of the church choir for many years.

She married Walter Phelps Stewart in New York City and together they went on to have two children: Rachel Stewart and Evangeline Stewart. Ana Hilda also known to many of her nieces and nephews as "Titi Nail" (Auntie Nail) was a wonderful and loving mother and aunt who gave her all to her family while maintaining a tender heart and a witty sense of humor. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her as she was our beautiful hero and role model.

Ana Hilda was born to Quintin Del Carmen Collado Ortiz and Ana Maria Morales Torres Ortiz on October 7th, 1933 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She was predeceased by our father Walter P. Stewart, her second husband of 23 years Angel Manuel Mattos Nieves and her brothers and sisters: Fredesvinda & Buenaventura (Tuto) Lopez, Evelyn & Gilberto (Gibin) Marrero, Domitila & Santiago ("Chago") Ramos, Enrique Collado, Pedro Antonio Collado, and Quintin Collado Jr. & Carmen Oller. She is survived by her daughters Rachel and Evangeline and their spouses Jose Antonio and Scott; grandchildren Rachel Catherine, Josean and Claudia; great grandchildren Emma Luna and Mila Zoe; her sister Bibi, sisters-in-law Bilin and Hilda; and many nephew, nieces, and their children and grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, June 25, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, NJ 07755. Telephone (732) 531-3885
