Obituary for Dolores M. Short
Dolores (Briante) Short, 89, passed away peacefully at home. Dolores was born in Newark, NJ and lived in Fords, NJ and West Long Branch, NJ and most recently Stroudsburg, PA.
Dolores graduated from St. Michael's nursing program in Newark, NJ. She worked at several healthcare facilities and is a retiree of Raritan Bay Medical Center. Dolores's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She was a devout Catholic and served as a lector at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church in West Long Branch.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Mildred Briante. Her beloved husband of 61 years, Thomas Short. Her brother, Nicholas; her daughter, Mary Ellen Knudsen and grandson Russell Short.
She is survived by her 10 children, Kevin, Mark,Thomas, James, Edward, Christopher, David, Kathy, Connie and Bethann; her 25 cherished grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who were the joys of her life.
A celebration of life will be in August during a family reunion.
