Obituary for Louis A. Lanzillo

Louis A. Lanzillo, 76, of Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, March 16, 2018.
He was born in Jersey City and lived in Jersey City, Bayonne, Oceanport and Long Branch before moving to Tinton Falls 6 years ago.
Lou was a received a BS from Ithaca College and also graduated from Montclair State College, Fordham University and Seton Hall University. He was a physical education teacher for the Jersey City School District from 1965 to 1985; assistant superintendent from 1985 to 1987 and first assistant superintendent from 1987 to retiring 1994. He then became assistant director of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission from 1994 to retiring in 2010. Lou was a member of the NJEA, JCEA and the HCEA where he served on many committees and boards.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Vita Lanzillo and a nephew, Thomas Fette.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary Elizabeth “Sis” O’Connor Lanzillo; sister, Donna Marie and her husband Thomas Fette and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am Wednesday at Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church in Neptune followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
