Obituary for Angelo J. Schiraldi

Angelo J. Schiraldi, 76, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 24, 2017 at home. He was born in Manhattan, New York and moved to Oakhurst 44 years ago.
After graduating from Immaculata High School, he went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army. He earned the degree of Associate in Arts from Brookdale Community College and a Standard Certificate at American Institute of Banking where he went on to teach.
Angelo was an international banker and held the position of Executive Vice President in various financial institutions including Irving Trust Company, State Street Bank, Commonwealth Trading Bank of Australia, Arab Bank Limited, and CARIPLO, from where he retired.
Angelo was a communicant and an usher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Asbury Park. He was a proud member of the Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean (IAATO) for 40 years where he held various positions including President, Treasurer and Executive Board Member. Angelo was a member of the Catholic War Veterans of Asbury Park for 6 years where he held the position of Commander.
Most of all, Angelo loved spending time with his family whom he deeply cared for. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who will be sadly missed.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Schiraldi; sisters, Nancy Gallo and Loretta Wodin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Theresa (Talamanco) Schiraldi; his daughter, Maria Burt-Schiraldi and wife, Stephanie of Manasquan; son, Christopher Schiraldi and girlfriend, Lisa Thorne of Shark River Hills; brother-in-law, Anthony Gallo of Manchester; and brother-in-law, Joseph Talamanco and wife, Jean of Wisconsin.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2017 and Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Monday, March 6, 2017 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1201 Asbury Avenue, Asbury Park. Entombment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
