Obituary for Edward S. Brooks

Edward S. Brooks, 88, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014.

Edward was born to Stephen and Ella Brodzinski on April 17, 1926. He graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1944 and soon thereafter joined the US Army. The 242nd Rainbow Division was his choice of service. He attained the rank of Sergeant during WW II before returning home in 1947. He then entered Rutgers University and graduating in 1951.
Edward worked at Fort Monmouth for 30 years as a chemical engineer and retired in 1982. He spent many years with the Ocean Township Little League and Babe Ruth League. He was a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church in West Long Branch.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Ann Waller in 2013, his parents and a sister, Margaret Clausen in 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maryann Dubetsky Brooks; his children, Richard and his wife Phyllis Brooks, Greg and his wife Melinda Brooks and Christine and her husband Edward Pappas; 6 grandchildren, Stephen, Brian, Jonathon and Paul Brooks and Mark and Emily Pappas and 2 great grandchildren, Malia and Kaden Brooks.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst. Funeral Thursday at 10 am from the funeral home followed by an 11 am Funeral Mass at St. Jerome’s Church in West Long Branch. Burial will be at Brigadier General William C.
